5 Cigar FAQs that every cigar lover must know of! Response Remedy Reaction

Smoking a cigar is a transcendental experience. Being able to detect the subtle undertones of coffee and spices helps you unwind after a long day of work and blow away your stress in a puff of smoke. But often, cigar novices find themselves asking a lot of cigar-related questions. If they have friends who are cigar lovers, then it is all well and good. Otherwise, they see themselves struggling to get these questions answered. We have thus compiled a list of frequently asked cigar-related questions (FAQs) so that you can look and smoke like a pro.

  • What are the parts of a cigar?

A cigar is usually divided into four parts – the tip of the cap, the head, the body, and the foot. You always light the foot of the cigarette, and the cap or the tip is the part you cut off. A cigar is quintessentially made of three components – the filler, which is the core made of tightly pressed broken leaves; the binder, the leaves that wrap around the filler; and the wrapper.

  • What type of cutter should I use?

Cigar lovers usually prefer the straight cut of a cigar because it allows the most surface volume on the cigar’s head, which produces more smoke. Thus, a straight or guillotine cutter would be optimum for most people, and it is also the most frequently sought-after cutter. Check out our assortment of lighters at Cigar Conexion.

  • What should I look for in a cigar lighter?

There are two features that you must pay attention to – the fuel and the flame. The fuel must burn clean and is odorless and tasteless, for instance, butane. Some lighter fuels emit a kerosene-like odor that sometimes alters the taste of your cigar. The lighter must also provide a large enough flame to light the entire cigar at once, and flames coming from disposable lighters are usually too small for this. Check out some premium cigar lighters at Cigar Conexion.

  • What is the proper way to cherish a cigar?

Traditionally, cigar smokers do not inhale its smoke because it is uncomfortable and significantly hazardous. Puff your cigar two or three times and then blow out the smoke. When the smoke becomes thick and white, your cigar is sufficiently lit, so constant puffing is unnecessary. Cigar smoke must be mulled over rather than digested. After that, slow your puffs and enjoy the taste of the cigar. If you are a novice, begin with a mild cigar as it won’t have any repercussions even if you smoke it wrong.

  • How do I store a cigar?

Cigars must always be kept in a humidor until they are ready to be smoked. Without humidors, cigars can only survive up to 3 days. When taken out, humidified cigars can be kept in sealed plastic bags along with paper towels for a day or two.
